a friend saw them in NYC last week and said that at the beginning of the set Tanner muttered into his mic "Prepare to be disappointed." Of course, they slayed.

Someone told me that I can't like Oxbow and not like this band, but I've never really gotten into them. Where should I start? Guess I'll just pick a random from blogspot.

Well on first listen this one is way, way better than 'Life...the Best Game in Town', their most recent record before this.... But having said that I'd still say start with 'Courtesy & Goodwill Toward Men'.

Incidentally, where should I start with Oxbow, having seen them live & liked it but not heard a single record yet?

Kingking, I would say chronologically.

hoping you put an evil heat in red because it fucking rules. it does make sense to listen to them in order because they are kind of a continuing "story" in a sense. but an evil heat just owns.

Thanks dudes. It's settled. Evil Heat first, then back to the start and chronological from there on out. Just read that they have a new one due to drop this year - 'The Thin Black Duke', but I guess that's probably old news to both of you... Oh & thrope, thanks for offering rips, but it's no bother. I'll just google hunt for them.
